Women’s Parka Jackets & Coats
The parka is a classic winter jacket for women—one with decades of heritage behind it. Alpha Industries started producing the N-3B parka for the U.S. military in 1959, with the goal of protecting Air Force service members in freezing climates.
Chances are you’re familiar with the N-3B parka’s iconic features: a long, loose fit; a snorkel hood lined with fur or faux fur; and a nylon shell with a warm lining that keeps heat in and the winter elements out.
Today, the N-3B is just one of the women’s parka coats in the Alpha Industries collection. But its signature design details inform every other parka we create, from high-performance styles for extreme weather to lighter-weight pieces for mild days.

- N-3B Parka: The original parka Alpha Industries produced for the U.S. Military, the N-3B features a snorkel hood, a full-length storm flap, and inset knit cuffs for added warmth. Choose the unisex N-3B for a looser fit, or the N-3B W, a winter jacket for women.
- Short Waist Parka: Just like the N-3B, the N-2B Short Waist Parka is a heritage style that stands up to freezing temperatures—but it hits at the waist, rather than the thighs.
- Long Parkas: The Sierra Gen II Parka is great for extra cold days, thanks to its adjustable, below-the-knee hem. Its matte nylon finish is both windproof and water-resistant.
