Manhattan, Kansas Janet McGillivary 1962 — 2024 Janet S. (Krehbiel) McGillivary, 61, of Manhattan, passed away March 22, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice House. She was born in 1962 in Kingman, KS, to Merlin and Kerren Krehbiel. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kerren (Ewy) Krehbiel. She is survived by her husband, Larry McGillivary, father Merlin Krehbiel (LaVerta Moody), siblings Joni Jantz (Allen) and Michael Krehbiel (Kris), nieces and nephews Kylie Weber (Jake), Dylan Jantz (Elise Fast), and Amber Hoogerheyde (Jake), and two grand-nephews. Gene is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Genae (Greg) Denver of Manhattan; son Mike (Cindy) Willich of Shawnee, KS; son Corey (Canise) Willich of Lee Summit, Mo. six grandchildren and sister Vanita (Harlen) Hunt of Meriden, KS. He was born August 13, 1932 in Hutchinson, KS to George Fred and Beatrice Ellen (Tinsley) Williams and grew up on the family farm in Partridge, KS. Rod graduated from Partridge High School and earned a Bachelor and Masters from Kansas State University. He married Sandra Marie Thompson on July 22, 1958 in Prairie Village, KS. Rod worked as an Extension Agent for Morton County, KS and was awarded with a State certification. He enjoyed camping and fishing, reading and in later years learned how to crochet from Sandra. They were married just a few hours short of 75 years however Elaine and Harry were able to enjoy an anniversary celebration with family and friends on September 3.
