If I stick a c. 2.5k poison damage glyph on a precise fire staff.... what does it DO?

I think it (sometimes, rng) hits my target with 2.5k poison damage. I think this is NOT scaled by weapon or spell damage or max mag or stam. But I think it IS affected by physical penetration (not spell penetration)?

Is that right?

Who does it target? Only things that are hit by the light or heavy attack, (thus single target) and not things that are affected by skills (even staff skills - which could then be area of effect)?

Damage glyphs have a base cooldown of 4 seconds.
They can proc on Light/heavy and weapon skills.

Their damage scales with buffs/debuffs but not your offensive stats (weapon/spell damage and max stats)
They are affected by the corresponding Penetration stat.
Oblivion damage glyphs aren't affected by anything other than max hp (and a bug that's only relevant in PvP)

If a damage glyph procs of a ground targeted weapon-based AoE then it is random which enemy it will hit. If it procs of single target damage then that clearly would hit the single target that is hit.

The rest was covered masterfully by @BohnT2

Not exactly random, in case for example Crusher and Wall of Elements, it procs on the closest enemy to you in moment of cast.

They effect one target every 5 seconds. Infused drops it down to 2.5 seconds.

Poison/disease/physical damage glyphs are indeed effected by physical penetration. The other are effected by spell penetration except Oblivion damage which is absolute damage that ignores resistances.

Enchantments proc off light/heavy attacks and weapon abilities. You can proc the enchantment on a back bar weapon by using a weapon ability like Wall of Elements.

When was that change made? I've long believed it was 10 seconds for a few years now.

Edit: Nevermind I did a quick Google search. So apparently the weapon and spell damage giving glyph has the long cooldown on it of 10 seconds but the damage dealing glyphs are 5. The more you know!

Have you tried infused Heartland Conqueror with Torug's Pact? That's where glyph fun begins...XD

I have run it on a regular 2h/bow stamblade (two above mentioned sets on both bars + Balorgh for pen) - 7347 Poison Dmg from glyph firing more or less every second LA with 806 weapon dmg ench - it worked really well in overland content and quite decent in BG (especially with crits), but I didn't test it in Veteran dung.

    I think it’s more like a 4 second cool down for a non-infused weapon.

It scales with crit% and crit damage multipliers as well as what was already mentioned

You're right it's 4 seconds, I must have looked at an old CMX when looking for the cd.

Yeah, I believe it’s technically 4.000. If you’re using an AoE DoT that ticks every 1s then it will randomly bounce between 4 and 5s cooldown. I think this is because the DoT tick will land on something like 3.999s since the last proc and miss, or 4.001s and hit.

I thought glyphs are active all the time? That means using poison instead of a glyph would be a better solution although there's just a 20% chance for proc?

Curious - Heartland increased the weapon TRAIT by 100%. Does that mean a damage Truly Superb Glyph of Decrease Health will do more damage?

Or is you have a Nirhoned trait that is legendary you will go from 15% to 30% increased damage?

Torug decreases enhancement cool down - I assume that is the glyph.

Since both sets require the 5 pieces to be worked to get the benefit, how are you doing this.
    Super interested!

They could just be doing the standard monster set + 2 five piece set route to get both sets working without the inclusion of something like a mythic.

Yes, Oblivion dmg on infused weapon will increase by HC from 30% to 60%, but Torug will not increase its power.

And yes, 100% trait increase means that nirnhorned will do 30%, precise 14%, etc. and only infused cooldown wouldn't be increase, what make this set highly customizable, which is pretty nice, because depending on the situation you can run with few weapons and easily change for example crit in pve to pen in pvp.

I am keeping HC on body, so I could use any weapon (including arena stuff), and when it comes to Torug - you can get it instead of monster set + jewelry + arena weapons, or get monster set (as i did with Balorgh) and than put it on jewelry & weapons. But the both weapons should be used with Torug, because bonus to weapon power on backbar is too good to ignore it Confused about Glyph Damage (18)

When it comes to gameplay, you need to rely on your LA, which will be massively boosted. But remember that skills will be slightly weaker, because of lacking weapon/spell dmg.
